5-Step Registration Journey
01
Application Submission
2–5 business days
Complete the SCRD Professional Registration Application (Form SCRD-APP-001) and submit with all supporting documentation, including certified copies of educational credentials, professional experience records, and identity documents.
Requirements at this stage:
- Completed Application Form SCRD-APP-001
- Certified educational transcripts
- Proof of professional qualifications (CFA, CFP®, ACCA, etc.)
- National ID and passport-sized photos
- Employer letter or self-employment declaration
- Application fee payment receipt (R 15,000)

Credential Review
10–15 business days
The SCRD Credential Assessment Team reviews all submitted qualifications, verifying educational certificates with issuing institutions and confirming professional accreditations with relevant bodies.
Requirements at this stage:
- All documents under review by SCRD Credential Team
- Applicant may be contacted for clarifications
- Independent verification with universities and professional bodies

Compliance Assessment
5–10 business days
A comprehensive compliance check is conducted, including criminal background verification, regulatory history review across all EAC jurisdictions, and reference checks with three professional referees.
Requirements at this stage:
- Criminal background check authorization form
- Three professional referee contacts
- Declaration of regulatory history in all jurisdictions
- Anti-money laundering compliance declaration

Approval Process
5 business days
The SCRD Registration Committee reviews the complete application file and makes a final determination. Applicants are notified of approval or, in the case of rejection, provided written reasons and an appeal pathway.
Requirements at this stage:
- Final review by SCRD Registration Committee
- Written decision issued to applicant
- Appeal available within 30 days if application declined

SCRD Number Assignment
2 business days
Upon approval, the applicant is issued their unique 8-digit SCRD Registration Number and their profile is published on the public registry. The official SCRD Certificate is issued digitally and by post.
Requirements at this stage:
- SCRD Number issued and activated in registry
- Digital Certificate of Registration emailed
- Physical Certificate posted within 10 business days
- Public profile activated on SCRD portal
